How is my server recycled?
A server is first evaluated to see if it is able to be reintroduced to market. If it is, the hard drives are removed and completely destroyed. (Please see photos under our Security Tab.) Then any distinguishing features such as labels, stickers or numbers are removed. New hard drives would then be inserted and the finished product would be sold to be reused.
When a server is determined to be obsolete (which is often the case), it is then completely dismantled. Each component is introduced into the commodities market (steel, wire, circuit boards, etc.) All of our processors hold industry certifications such as R2, e-stewards, ISRI, and others.
