Cell Phone Recycling
How are cell phones recycled?
Cell phone recycling is the perfect example of our repair, reuse, and recycle philosophy. When a cell phone is received a quick evaluation is performed as to its age and condition. If it’s a newer working model, personal data is erased and the phone is either donated or resold. If the phone is a newer phone but is not in working condition, parts can often be harvested and used to repair other phones.
When a cell phone is obsolete or severely damaged, it is sent to a refiner for processing where the plastic and other non-precious metal bearing materials are separated and recycled. Precious metals are then recovered from the remaining material.
Our Cell phone recycling program is an easy way to raise money for your organization. Contact Bluegrass E-Cycle today to set up a program for your school, church or organization. We provide pre-paid Fed Ex boxes, as well as posters to help promote your effort. You or your organization will receive a check within 30 days from sending in your box. We use domestic processors for all collected material, including cell phones!
